Purpose of the Position:

The Maintenance Worker III is a key member of our facilities team, responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair duties related to plumbing, painting, electrical, and mechanical systems. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including wheelchairs, carts, commodes, and beds and tables.
  2. Identify and address malfunctions in plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  3. Perform heavy cleaning duties, including washing outside windows and removing garbage.
  4. Assist with maintenance of grounds and building exterior, including cleaning patios and courtyards, removing snow and ice, and watering lawns.
  5. Transport heavy and/or bulky equipment and furniture throughout the facility.
  6. Perform emergency preparedness activities, including checking fire extinguishers and assisting with emergency response drills.
  7. Check operation of heating and domestic hot water boilers, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  8. Report non-routine maintenance situations or malfunctions to the Manager.
  9. Ensure safety of residents and report any adverse events or near misses immediately.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a Grade 10 education and two years of recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Knowledge of building trades and related services is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Working Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 8 am - 4 pm

Salary Wage: $27.10 Hourly
