Position Overview

Join our dedicated team at Sprucedale Care Centre Inc as a Personal Support Specialist in Nursing Care. This is a permanent role offering 30 hours of work per week, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program lasting 1 to 2 years.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year, but less than 2 years in a similar role.
Work Environment
  • Located in a rural area.
  • Relocation assistance is not provided.
  • Willingness to relocate is required.
  • Experience in chronic or long-term care facilities is preferred.
  • Work within health care institutions, facilities, or clinics.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver personal care and support to residents.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support.
  • Prepare and serve healthy meals.
  • Administer bedside and personal care as needed.
  • Assist residents with feeding and nutrition.
  • Change non-sterile dressings when necessary.
  • Encourage and assist with regular physical activity.
  • Support the prevention of inadequate nutrition.
Required Certifications
  • First Aid Certification.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Personal Support Worker Certification.
  • Training as a Developmental Services Worker (DSW).
