Overview of the Position

The Resident Care Support Specialist is dedicated to providing exceptional assistance and care to residents, their families, and fellow team members. This role is essential in addressing the comprehensive needs of residents by facilitating daily living activities, encouraging personal choices, preserving dignity, and fostering independence.

Key Responsibilities
The primary duties encompass five crucial areas:

Person-Centered Support: Ensures service excellence by being attentive to the residents' requirements in line with care plans, policies, and procedures. Aids residents in all necessary daily living activities while upholding their privacy and dignity. Care Documentation: Diligently records and communicates care and observations to the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse promptly. Monitors and documents the holistic needs of residents in the health care record, encompassing their physical, psychological, spiritual, social, and emotional well-being. Safety Practices: Contributes to a secure environment for residents, colleagues, and oneself by consistently adhering to safety protocols and practices. Possesses thorough knowledge of all relevant health and safety policies and emergency preparedness procedures. Continuous Learner: Embodies the vision and values of Bethany Care Society, actively participating in the mission of Creating Caring Communities. Collaborative Team Member: Works harmoniously with others as an effective team player. Engages with interdisciplinary team members to assess and adjust the documented care needs of residents.

Qualifications

Completion of Grade 10 and possession of a Government of Alberta approved Health Care Aide certificate Registration with the Government of Alberta Health Care Aide Directory Previous experience as a Health Care Aide is advantageous but not mandatory Capability to perform effectively in a physically and mentally demanding setting Proficient in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in English Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving abilities
