About the Role

The Licensed Practical Nurse is a key member of the care team at Bethany Care Society, responsible for providing high-quality care and support to residents. This role requires a passion for delivering exceptional service and a commitment to promoting resident independence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resident-Centered Care
    • Conduct thorough nursing assessments to establish and prioritize care plans
    • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care
    • Ensure resident safety and well-being through effective documentation and reporting
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Accurately document resident care assessments, interventions, and outcomes
    • Provide timely and accurate reports of data collection, interpretation, and evaluation
  • Safety and Quality
    • Contribute to a safe environment for residents, staff, and self
    • Identify and mitigate unsafe conditions in the work environment
  • Team Collaboration and Leadership
    • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care conferences
    • Share knowledge and expertise to promote resident-centered care
    • Assume leadership roles and provide direction to Health Care Aides
  • Professional Development
    • Attend education opportunities and health and safety training
    • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices

Requirements

  • Graduate of a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program
  • Previous LPN experience is preferred
  • Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
  • Excellent observation, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Current CPR certification
  • Dementia Care Certificate and experience are preferred
  • Knowledge of RAI/MDS 2.0 tool and electronic documentation is preferred
