As the ideal candidate, the Environmental Project Specialist will execute initiatives within the Emission Management and Compliance (EMC) division by conducting fieldwork as necessary, gathering data, performing data analysis, calculating emissions, and preparing comprehensive reports. The EMC team relies on Technical Staff to uphold high levels of utilization and efficiency.

Technical Staff serve as representatives of our brand, engaging with clients to gather information and communicate requirements, challenges, or outcomes.

Reporting to a Team Leader, the Environmental Project Specialist assists clients in adhering to environmental regulations by quantifying emissions related to air, water, odor, noise, and dust, preparing necessary annual reports, and securing compliance approvals required for operational equipment.

A Day in the Life of an Environmental Project Specialist

The Environmental Project Specialist will support Project Managers, Engineers, Team Leaders, and the Operations Manager to deliver exceptional technical solutions and services to our clients. This role is crucial in achieving the department's profitability and efficiency goals:

  • Conduct on-site field activities safely and effectively.
  • Accurately manage data and calculations while developing high-quality reports.
  • Maintain technical skills and professional designations.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions.
  • Actively engage in the development of a personal career advancement plan.
  • Professionally interact with clients and efficiently gather necessary information.
  • Adhere to deadlines and fulfill project scopes.
  • Report directly to a Team Leader for overall guidance.
  • Achieve and maximize utilization targets.
  • Respond promptly to client needs and ensure their satisfaction.
  • Stay within assigned project budgets for all tasks.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team member.
  • Ensure timesheets are completed accurately and in accordance with corporate policy.

What You Bring to Our Team

  • College Diploma (preferred) or a degree in Science or Engineering.
  • Two years of relevant experience, ideally in an industrial or consulting environment.
  • A valid driver's license with adequate insurance and access to a vehicle.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and proofread all written reports and correspondence.
  • Strong spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to sit for extended periods and operate necessary office equipment.
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including confined spaces and protective gear.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders and lift items not exceeding 20 kg.
  • Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Availability to work outside regular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Overtime may be necessary during peak periods to meet deadlines.
