Job Title: Plasterer

We are seeking a skilled Plasterer to join our team at M & R ROOFING,SIDING AND RENOVATION LTD. As a Plasterer, you will be responsible for applying, leveling, and smoothing coats of plaster to create a smooth and even surface.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for plastering projects
  • Instruct apprentices in plastering techniques and safety protocols
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster to walls and ceilings
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for plastering
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces to ensure durability
  • Finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim
  • Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
  • Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces
  • Estimate costs and materials for plastering projects
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems to design and plan plastering projects
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages to access plastering areas
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms to ensure safe access to plastering areas
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand plastering projects
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling to access plastering areas
  • Hand-eye coordination to apply plaster smoothly and evenly
  • Handling heavy loads of plaster and materials
  • Large workload and tight deadlines to complete plastering projects
  • Manual dexterity to mix and apply plaster ingredients
  • Overtime required to complete plastering projects on time
  • Physically demanding work to apply plaster and work at heights
  • Repetitive tasks to apply plaster and complete plastering projects
  • Sound discrimination to communicate with colleagues and clients
  • Tight deadlines to complete plastering projects
  • Walking to access plastering areas and move around the work site
  • Work under pressure to complete plastering projects on time
Weight Handling:
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) of plaster and materials
