Component Engineer

IMAX is seeking a highly skilled Component Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining product BOM structures, researching and providing guidance for component selection, and ensuring compliance with legal, safety, and program requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and maintain product BOM structures/configurations
- Research and provide guidance for component selection
- Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and program requirements
- Support procurement with preliminary pricing, lead-time, and samples
- Support external testing for part qualification of custom components
- Support Operations for component-related production issues
- Contribute to Make/Buy Decisions
- Help prepare and process Engineering Change Requests
- Provide support to Installation, Technical Services, and Purchasing organizations
- BSE with experience in the electronics manufacturing industry or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes
- Knowledge of procurement cycles and processes
- Experience in taking a product from design to releasing it into manufacturing
- Experience with ISO9001, TQM, and continuous improvement concepts
- Experience with PLM systems
- Experience with BOM management and/or configuration management
- Familiarity with Silicon Expert or similar supply chain risk management tools
- Experience with SAP or a similar PDM system
