Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our team at Kiewit Industrial and Water Engineering. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural solutions for industrial and manufacturing facilities across North America.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement structural designs for projects ranging from moderate to large in size and complexity.
  • Apply industry standards and best practices to ensure the preparation of accurate calculations, project drawings, and specifications.
  • Mentor and direct the work of junior engineers, providing guidance and coaching as needed.
  • Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create detailed plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to address structural-related issues and concerns.
  • Recommend process improvements and changes to standards as needed.
  • Prepare and update project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or architectural engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or in the process of obtaining licensure.
  • 5-8 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on industrial and manufacturing projects.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in engineering software, including CSi SAP2000, SAFE, and RISA Suite.
  • Familiarity with BIM software, such as Revit, and 3D modeling experience.
