Job SummaryThe Software Quality Director will provide leadership for the software quality assurance engineering team, quality team, and certification team. This position is based in Concord, ON, and will lead the quality test development and implementation of all software engineering plans, direct and manage software engineering resource allocation, schedules, and budget.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the software quality assurance engineering team to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.
- Develop and implement software quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, mechanical, product management, marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure successful delivery of product releases.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior leadership, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure alignment and support for software quality initiatives.
- Develop and implement metrics and evaluation criteria for software quality and performance.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the software quality team remains competitive and innovative.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of software development experience, with at least 3 years of leadership experience.
- Strong leadership skills, proven expertise in creating an innovation culture, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Thorough knowledge of software development, testing, and quality assurance processes and procedures.
- Ability to problem-solve, analyze situations, and make informed decisions.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies and experience with embedded systems, Linux, and Android development is an asset.
- Working knowledge of C/C++, Java, Perl, Linux, Android, JVM/JNI, Qt, and TCP/IP.
- Knowledge of embedded web/HTTP, XML, VOIP, security, and encryption technologies, Wi-Fi, ZigBee, Z-Wave, DECT, GSM, and CDMA.
- Experience with development environment and tools, such as GNU, VMWare, IAR, Eclipse, and others.
