Job Description

Location: Toronto, ON

Duration: 6-12 Months

We are currently looking for a Senior Guidewire ClaimCenter Configurator with experience in version 5, 6, or 7.

This position will involve performing improvements and enhancements to our existing systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design, code, test, and debug complex applications and develop their environments.
  2. Document code by applying current norms and standards.
  3. Write and update documentation according to current methods.
  4. Analyze code and complex problems pertaining to the logic of existing systems, notify the software analyst, and recommend solutions.
  5. Conduct complex impact analyses and participate in software design.
  6. Participate in effort assessments of complex developments, validate estimates, and communicate discrepancies during the project.
  7. Be familiar with and apply current norms and standards, and encourage development of norms and standards.
  8. Be familiar with the existing infrastructure and common services.
  9. Identify and promote the reuse of components.
  10. Validate the technical feasibility of functional files and identify risk areas.
  11. Conduct complex unit tests, integrated tests, and functional tests according to current methodologies and processes.
  12. Be familiar with and participate in various test series, including performance, systems, and acceptance tests.
  13. Be familiar with the process of unit testing and ensure it is followed and applied.
  14. Be familiar with and apply continuous integration processes.
  15. Perform tasks related to deliveries and implementations.
  16. Act as a coach, support, and train object developers as needed.
  17. Be a prime candidate for peer reviews.
  18. Support users of the applications to which you are assigned.
  19. Support Production to resolve urgent problems.
Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with knowledge of SDLC methodology, Agile methodology, and the unified modeling language (UML). Experience in object-oriented programming, developing distributed applications, and knowledge of SOA and at least one relational database management system (RDBMS) is required. Familiarity with continuous integration and demonstrated expertise in at least one specialty, such as JAVA JEE, System i, or ASP.Net, is also necessary.
