As a Food Service Worker, you will be part of the Nutrition Food Service (NFS) team, which provides high-quality meal services to patients, residents, staff, visitors, and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve meals with limited supervision, adhering to AHS guidelines for quantity and quality controls, food safety standards, and cleaning practices.
  • Follow established recipes and cooking techniques to prepare multi-ingredient dishes from raw ingredients.
  • Ensure meals are appropriately portioned and follow established cleaning and sanitization practices to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Physical ability to lift food, supplies, and equipment up to 46lbs and push/pull meal carts up to 250lbs.
  • Ability to walk and stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Food Sanitation and Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience.
  • Food service experience, preferably in a hospital or long-term care environment.
  • Experience with inventory management, receiving deliveries, managing expiry dates, and minimizing waste.
  • Experience with Industrial Food Service Equipment.
  • Food Safe Certificate or equivalent.
  • WHMIS training.
