Job Title: Infection Control Practitioner

North York General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Infection Control Practitioner to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Infection Prevention and Control Program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of infection control practices are maintained throughout our hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement effective infection control policies and procedures
  • Provide education and training to healthcare providers on infection control practices
  • Conduct surveillance and monitoring of nosocomial infections
  • Liaise with external agencies, including the City of Toronto Public Health Department
  • Participate in outbreak management and provide guidance on infection control measures
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to reduce nosocomial infections
Requirements:
  • University preparation in a health-related discipline or recognized equivalent
  • Completion of an IPAC-Canada endorsed Infection Control course
  • Certification in infection control (CIC) preferred
  • Experience in infection control preferred
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset
