Position Overview

David Vos Farms Ltd is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of General Farm Worker. This position involves a variety of tasks essential for the successful operation of our agricultural business.

Educational Requirements

No formal education is required for this role, making it accessible to a wide range of candidates.

Work Environment

The job is set in a remote location with staff accommodation available. Candidates should be prepared to relocate if necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planting, cultivating, and irrigating crops to ensure optimal growth.
  • Applying fertilizers and pesticides to maintain crop health.
  • Harvesting crops at the appropriate time for market readiness.
  • Caring for and feeding livestock to promote their well-being.
  • Operating and maintaining various farm machinery and equipment.
  • Identifying and addressing health issues in crops and animals.
  • Assessing product quality to meet market standards.
Equipment Proficiency

Experience with the following machinery is beneficial:

  • Seed drills
  • Tractors
  • Farm trucks
Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage tight deadlines, and perform physically demanding tasks. Candidates should be comfortable with:

  • Repetitive tasks
  • Handling heavy loads
  • Various physical positions including sitting, standing, and walking
  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling
Experience and Work Hours

No prior experience is necessary as training will be provided. This is a permanent position with a commitment of 40 hours per week. The primary working language is English.
