Director of Engineering and Maintenance

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering & Maintenance Manager to join our team at Garaga inc. in a full-time, permanent position.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing all safety procedures and reporting non-conformities immediately.
- Support production with innovative engineering solutions to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Manage and/or assist all engineering team projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Develop and implement new products, equipment, and processes to stay ahead of market trends and technological opportunities.
- Act as a technical resource, providing guidance and support to the engineering team and other departments as needed.
- Conduct regular meetings with other branches to ensure consistency and efficiency across the organization.
- Review and improve design strategies, processes, and technology to drive business growth and profitability.
- Monitor plant performance, review production reports, and identify areas for improvement.
- Plan and coordinate projects with other departments, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and adjust processes as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of management experience, preferably in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing teams and leading projects.
- Competence in creating engineering and technical data, including drawings, schematics, and product specifications.
- PLM experience, including BoM control for product families.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and CAD software, such as SolidWorks.
- Strong focus on continuous improvement, including Lean Methodology and Theory of Constraints.
- Keen attention to detail and follow-through for assigned tasks.
Physical Demands:
- 30% of time walking the floor up to six hours per day, one or two days per week.
- Regularly requires standing, squatting, stooping, bending, and reaching throughout the day.
- Requires extraordinary hand-eye coordination and ability to work in a fast-paced area.
- Maneuvering around tight spaces.
- Occasionally requires some twisting and lifting up to 20 to 30 lbs.
