Join Our Team as a Maintenance Supervisor

The Role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to lead our Physical Facilities team in the essential upkeep of heating and refrigeration systems across our campus. This role is pivotal in ensuring the functionality and safety of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Supervisor, your primary duties will include:
- Overseeing the maintenance and operation of heating systems, ensuring adherence to preventative and predictive maintenance protocols.
- Ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of all campus buildings, including monitoring hydronic reset schedules, operating pressures, and ventilation requirements.
- Supervising the work of staff and contractors to comply with health and safety standards, as well as local, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Coordinating inspections and reporting in accordance with the Federal Halocarbon Regulations.
- Collaborating with the Boiler and Heating Technician and Refrigeration Mechanic to plan and execute campus-wide mechanical maintenance programs.
- Providing guidance and training to maintenance staff to foster safe work practices.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- One or more journeyman trade certificates in refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, or a 4th class power engineer designation.
- Alberta Type A or B Gas Fitter certification.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with various types of manufactured boilers.
- A comprehensive understanding of boiler and gas codes, rules, and regulations.
- A valid Alberta driver's license.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be physically capable of working in challenging environments, including confined spaces and high temperatures, and must be comfortable using power tools and chemicals.
