We are seeking a highly skilled Drafting Technician to join our team at FU ASSOCIATES LTD. as a key member of our engineering design team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed engineering designs and drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and other documents to determine work requirements.
- Train and mentor new drafting personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Develop and prepare design sketches, construction specifications, costs, and material estimates.
- Write technical reports and specifications to communicate design and engineering information to clients and stakeholders.
- Examine drawings for conformity and errors, and consult with clients, engineers, and production specialists to establish product requirements.
- Assign, coordinate, and review projects and programs to ensure timely completion and quality standards.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, using your expertise and judgment to make decisions and solve problems.
- College or CEGEP diploma in a related field, such as engineering or architecture.
- 2-3 years of experience in drafting and design, preferably in a related industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, engineers, and production specialists.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
