Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading: Efficiently load and unload cargo to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Vehicle Operation: Operate and navigate straight or articulated trucks for transporting goods.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect the vehicle's condition, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment.
  • Emergency Repairs: Perform roadside repairs as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure vehicle reliability.
  • Communication: Relay information to central dispatch regarding route changes and cargo status.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of cargo details, service hours, distance traveled, and fuel usage.
  • Safety Measures: Ensure the safety and security of cargo through proper tarping and handling procedures.
Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Licenses: Valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A) and Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to handle repetitive tasks and spend extended periods sitting. Candidates should possess strong judgment, reliability, and flexibility.

Experience

Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.

Work Conditions

This is a permanent position with an expected work schedule of 45 hours per week. The primary language of work is English.
