Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Developmental Disabilities Mental Health Services team. The successful candidate will provide direct and indirect rehabilitation services, including assessment, intervention, consultation, education, and support services related to sensory processing and occupational performance.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide occupational therapy services to selected clients, consulting with team members to determine treatment priorities and goals.
  2. Determine the appropriate use of assessment tools and analyze assessment results to develop treatment plans.
  3. Review assessment results with clients and provide verbal and written reports to the clinical team.
  4. Identify resources required for treatment and initiate funding requests.
  5. Provide individual treatment to restore, develop, or maintain occupational performance/functional responsibilities.
  6. Ensure appropriate referral through discussion with clients, clinical team members, and support networks.
  7. Participate in the planning, development, and coordination of occupational therapy services for the Developmental Disabilities Mental Health service.
  8. Interpret the scope and purpose of sensory interventions and psychosocial rehabilitation for mental health team clients.
Qualifications

Graduation from an approved school of Occupational Therapy. Two years' recent related experience working in a mental health or developmental disabilities setting, with experience implementing sensory interventions.

Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC). Eligibility for membership in the British Columbia Society of Occupational Therapists (BCSOT) and/or the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).

Valid Class V BC driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes.
