Job Description

The Ontario Transit Group is seeking a highly skilled Materials Coordinator to join our team for the Ontario Line South Project. As a key member of our quality team, you will assist the Material Engineer in performing material review and acceptance functions related to quality.

  • Coordinate Field Testing and Inspection: Work with various parties on site to ensure that materials meet project specifications.
  • Review and Verification: Examine submitted timesheets, payment applications, and invoices from independent testing companies and laboratories to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Material Review and Approval: Review mix designs for various materials, including concrete, shotcrete, grout, asphalt, and masonry mixes, to ensure they meet project output specifications.
  • Site Visits and Testing: Visit off-site facilities to witness performance testing and ensure that materials meet project requirements.
  • Material Test Data Review: Review material test data for all construction materials, including steel, soil, waterproofing, and repair products, to ensure compliance with project output specifications.
  • Process Development and Update: Collaborate with design teams to develop and update the material acceptance process/procedure for the project.
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Work with Construction Quality and Quality Control Staff to ensure that all delivered materials meet project requirements.
  • Project Meetings and Communication: Attend project meetings as necessary to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other material and quality-related duties as assigned, including excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, documentation and reporting skills, teamwork and collaboration, and comfort with standing or walking for long periods.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or a related field on rail, transit, and transportation projects in the province of Ontario.
  • Knowledge and Certifications: Knowledge of CSA/ACI, OPSS, and other construction standards and specifications, as well as certification as a quality professional from a certifying body, such as a successful completion of an ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Training Course.
  • Reporting and Collaboration: Reports directly to the Material Engineer or designee and assists and works in conjunction with the Quality Team and other departments for the successful delivery of the project.
