Job Summary:

The Material Planning Team Leader at Amico Corporation is responsible for leading the Materials Team, ensuring they meet their defined roles and expectations by providing guidance and direction. This role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to guarantee the supply and delivery of materials meet production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to Planners, offering direction aligned with business objectives and strategic plans.
  • Collaborate across Departments to achieve production targets and optimize supply chain operations.
  • Develop a comprehensive supply plan based on a thorough understanding of materials and services, taking into account market trends and customer demands.
  • Support project scheduling to address any issues and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Analyze material demand patterns and bills of material construction to identify areas for improvement.
  • Resolve material issues and maintain an accurate and up-to-date materials database.
  • Ensure the material master is accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Review sales forecast monthly and suggest modifications to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and reduce costs.

Expectations:

  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality Teams to meet production goals and objectives.
  • Supervise and train Material Planners to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and handle field and quality issues related to materials, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Drive process and system improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.

Reports and Metrics:

  • COGI Report: Monitor and analyze material consumption and inventory levels.
  • BOM Variance Monitoring: Identify and address any discrepancies in bills of material construction.
  • Cost/Margin Monitoring: Analyze and optimize material costs and margins.
  • Custom Parts Inventory Management: Manage and track inventory levels of custom parts.
  • Cycle Count/Inventory Adjustment Report: Conduct regular inventory audits and adjust inventory levels as needed.
  • Material Planning Report: Provide regular updates on material planning and inventory levels.
  • Material Status: Monitor and track material availability and delivery status.
  • Monthly KPI Reports: Provide regular updates on key performance indicators, including sales, material consumption/purchases, inventory, and after-sales performance.

Requirements:

  • Degree in business, logistics, inventory management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • 2+ years in material planning, inventory management, or related roles.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective multitasking and prioritization.
  • Ability to interpret reports for production decisions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and English language proficiency.
  • Experience with Kanban and safety stock levels.
