Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Care Paramedic to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As an Advanced Care Paramedic, you will play a critical role in providing emergency medical services to patients in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess emergency scenes and patients, and provide treatment as needed
  • Transport ill or injured patients from emergency scenes and between facilities
  • Administer medications, advanced life support, and other treatments as required
  • Lead ALS crews in delivering clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes
  • Ensure ambulances and other EMS vehicles are properly stocked and equipped
Requirements
  • Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics as an Advanced Care Paramedic
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider certification
  • Valid class 4 Alberta Operator License or equivalent
  • Five-year driver abstract with no more than six demerits
  • Proof of successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education and/or experience in Community Health Services, nursing, social work, geriatric medicine, palliative medicine, chronic disease management, primary care, community pharmacology
  • Experience collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to achieve best patient care practices
  • Experience working in and demonstrating a strong understanding of community senior living
