The Chief Engine Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the boiler and chiller plants, adhering to national and provincial standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a preventative maintenance program for the plants and their associated systems
- Performing periodic inspections of the plants and their associated systems
- Assisting the Manager in the operation and maintenance of the plants as per applicable standards
- Recommending the selection of equipment and supplies and any alteration of physical facilities for the plants
- Determining appropriate manpower and work scheduling to ensure the efficient running of the plants
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual with:
- 2nd Class Power Engineer Certificate
- 3 years experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a similar role
- Proficiency in equipment, tools, and vehicles related to the work environment
- Ability to travel, with access to reliable transportation
- Competencies in other languages, with French being an asset
This is a Permanent Full Time position, with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. The hourly rate is $36.54, with the possibility of a Market Adjustment of $5,000 per year. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
