About the Opportunity

The Chief Engine Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the boiler and chiller plants, adhering to national and provincial standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a preventative maintenance program for the plants and their associated systems
  • Performing periodic inspections of the plants and their associated systems
  • Assisting the Manager in the operation and maintenance of the plants as per applicable standards
  • Recommending the selection of equipment and supplies and any alteration of physical facilities for the plants
  • Determining appropriate manpower and work scheduling to ensure the efficient running of the plants
About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual with:

  • 2nd Class Power Engineer Certificate
  • 3 years experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a similar role
  • Proficiency in equipment, tools, and vehicles related to the work environment
  • Ability to travel, with access to reliable transportation
  • Competencies in other languages, with French being an asset
Hours and Compensation

This is a Permanent Full Time position, with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. The hourly rate is $36.54, with the possibility of a Market Adjustment of $5,000 per year. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
