Job Overview

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic and Operations Officer to join our team at Ives & Associates. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in our Employee Safety systems, ensuring the effectiveness of our Food Safety and Quality systems, and leading the implementation of new products and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategies to improve Employee Safety systems, identify and solve issues, and drive a Zero mindset on employee injuries.
  2. Collaborate with the supply chain team to identify capacity constraints and ensure timely delivery of products to meet customer expectations.
  3. Implement and maintain Performance Systems, Lean approach to Manufacturing, and drive proactive communication throughout the organization.
  4. Lead by example on the floor, calibrate teams on performance, and deliver 3-5% cost savings annually through process improvements.
  5. Create and drive annual business plans on People, Safety, Quality, Service, and Costs.
  6. Lead Plant teams, set clear goals, objectives, and expectations, and calibrate the team on results regularly.
  7. Monitor daily operation schedules for accuracy and ensure daily operational goals are realized.
  8. Provide strategic guidance through participation in cross-functional meetings and data analysis on sales trends and cost performance.
  9. Develop a 3–5 year strategic plan for the facility, ensuring supply and maintaining infrastructure needs to support the organization's growth strategy.
  10. Improve facility stewardship and asset maintenance.
  11. Participate in new product development and planning, researching cost and ability of production.

Requirements:

Education/Certifications: Bachelor's degree required; preference for degrees in Engineering and Food Science.

Experience: Minimum of ten years experience in a production facility; with a minimum of three years as a Plant Manager. Prefer experience in the food industry.
