Overview:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Manufacturing Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing daily production activities in alignment with operational goals and schedules. This role emphasizes worker safety, adherence to regulations, and maintaining high standards of product quality and employee satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who prioritizes multiple tasks to drive team success.

Compensation:

Salary Range: 69,700-78,413

Work Schedule:

  • Flexibility with rotational shifts for vacation coverage is required.
  • Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as necessary.
  • Standard work schedule of 40-48 hours per week across 5-6 days.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities outlined below are essential to the role, but additional tasks may be assigned by the Plant Manager:

  • Oversee and coordinate team members during shifts to implement core operational processes, ensuring compliance with GMPs, SOPs, and cost management practices to deliver quality products efficiently.
  • Monitor production schedules and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective operations.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager to facilitate preventative maintenance for optimal equipment performance.
  • Promote continuous improvement through lean practices to enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Conduct daily transition meetings to assess production status and adjust plans as necessary to meet targets.
  • Facilitate regular safety discussions with team members to prioritize workplace safety.

Team Development:

  • Work alongside Human Resources and the Plant Manager to implement effective people management systems, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Participate in staff selection and training, addressing performance issues and conducting performance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and foster a culture of respect and engagement among team members.
  • Champion lean methodologies and coach team members to reinforce these principles.
  • Collaborate with Lead Hands to enhance team member engagement and development.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring all equipment is operational and well-maintained.

Financial Stewardship:

  • Assist the Plant Manager in planning resource utilization to minimize waste and maximize returns.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and practices.

Operational Coordination:

  • Facilitate inter-departmental communication to ensure seamless operations.
  • Employ problem-solving techniques to address inter-departmental challenges.
  • Account for team members during emergency situations.

Decision-Making Support:

  • Ensure all employees are trained to make informed decisions relevant to their roles.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to support effective decision-making.

Community Representation:

  • Represent Nature's Path positively in all internal and external interactions.
  • Uphold the same standards of conduct among all staff members.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a fast-paced environment.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in food production.
  • Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in conflict resolution and decision-making.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of safety protocols.
  • Proficient in manufacturing control and scheduling software.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
  • Reliable attendance is essential.
  • Availability for weekend, evening, and holiday shifts as required.
