This unique collaboration aims to provide foundational training for Flight Service Specialists and Air Traffic Controllers utilizing established training materials and methodologies. The training will take place at a newly designed Air Traffic Services Training Center, emphasizing innovation and addressing future air traffic management needs. As a leading provider in aviation training, CAE is strategically positioned to partner with industry leaders to cultivate a highly skilled workforce, ensuring the safety and efficiency of air traffic operations.
In this capacity, the Air Traffic Control Training Specialist will be tasked with delivering both classroom instruction and simulator-based training for initial Air Traffic Services (ATS) programs, adhering to relevant regulatory and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate classroom sessions and simulator briefings in a professional and comprehensive manner, aligned with CAE standards.
- Conduct simulator training sessions in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Supervise theoretical and simulator assessments, as well as progress evaluations.
- Maintain accurate and thorough training records to ensure client comprehension and smooth transitions between instructors.
- Identify and recommend additional training for clients who are not meeting expected progress.
- Document simulator usage and any discrepancies following established protocols.
- Engage in ongoing training updates or refreshers on ATS or instructional methodologies as necessary.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in the continuous enhancement of training materials and processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of the necessary qualifications and experience as mandated by regulatory authorities to serve as an Air Traffic Control Training Specialist.
- Familiarity with ICAO or Transport Canada Air Traffic Control regulations.
- A minimum of three years of experience in an operational Air Traffic Services role.
- A strong commitment to training and developing talent.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Capacity to maintain a strong customer focus in challenging situations.
- A dedication to quality with a continuous drive for process enhancement and client satisfaction.
- Ability to concentrate and perform effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to adapt to changes as required.
- Proficiency in English and/or French, as instruction will be conducted in both languages based on proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Flight Service Specialist, Tower Controller, or Instrument Flight Rules Controller.
- Experience in an instructional role.
- Possession of an instructor qualification from a recognized regulatory body.
