About the Role:
Dynacare is seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team in Belleville, Ontario. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process blood samples and other laboratory specimens with accuracy and efficiency
- Enter requisitions and results accurately and in a timely manner
- Provide outstanding customer service to patients, responding to their needs and concerns with empathy and kindness
- Manage anxious patients through the sample obtaining process with a pleasant, calming, and reassuring manner
- Prioritize and self-manage within a deadline-oriented environment
- Ensure all confidential information is maintained in a secure fashion
- Contribute to meeting departmental and corporate quality metrics, regulatory compliance, and quality indicators
Requirements:
- Secondary School diploma and a Laboratory Assistant training program or a Medical Lab Assistance course with specialized training in phlebotomy
- Customer-focused with a genuine care for patients' health
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, at a level that enables clear communication of instructions to patients
