We are seeking a Battery Expert to engage in diverse energy storage initiatives, primarily focusing on lithium-ion technology. This role will involve collaboration with industry pioneers on both existing and emerging battery technologies from leading manufacturers and integrators.
This position is crucial for expanding CB Canada's capabilities in lithium-ion battery applications, while also exploring next-generation technologies such as sodium, lithium metal, and other alternatives. Responsibilities will encompass project leadership, support, and business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and provide insights on cutting-edge battery technologies.
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts related to battery chemistry, performance, and operational strategies to a diverse audience.
- Oversee project management tasks, ensuring timely delivery of objectives.
- Achieve individual and team performance metrics.
- Engage with clients through various communication channels.
- Analyze and interpret technical documentation and data.
- Model battery performance and assess degradation factors.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop new business opportunities and projects in advisory and testing services.
- Assist in creating presentation materials for industry conferences and workshops.
- Contribute to strategic planning and marketing initiatives.

Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in battery research or development.
- Possession of any combination of the following skills is advantageous:
- Ability to model or simulate battery performance and degradation.
- Experience in battery testing or safety protocols.
- Familiarity with energy storage hardware.
- Proficiency in data analytics related to battery systems.
- Experience working in collaborative project teams and interacting with clients.
- Proficient in data analysis and presentation using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to meet deadlines while adapting to changing project scopes.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field.
- Experience in business development or participation in industry committees.
- Knowledge of energy storage systems and emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with software modeling tools such as MATLAB or Python.
