Position Overview

Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Manager of Clinical Operations

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated Manager of Clinical Operations to enhance our team. This role is vital in ensuring effective clinical and operational leadership within our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership to a clinical patient care department, overseeing a team of Nurses at advanced classification levels. Deliver services through collaborative multidisciplinary teams in both acute and community-based environments. Direct operations management, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical services, focusing on quality improvement and risk management. Address the ongoing needs of clients and their families, facilitating smooth transitions from acute care to community health services. Lead an interdisciplinary team, fostering collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure excellence in client-centered care, education, and research.

This role aligns with VCH's commitment to Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Planetary Health.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

A Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a relevant clinical field. A minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive clinical leadership experience, including supervisory roles. Current registration with a recognized professional association. Proficiency in basic computer applications, including word processing and database management, as well as experience with computerized patient care systems.

Knowledge & Skills

Proven ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to develop and evaluate clinical programs that meet client needs. Ability to cultivate strong relationships with partners to enhance service delivery while being sensitive to diversity and inclusion. Commitment to recognizing and supporting diversity at all engagement stages, understanding the challenges faced by equity-deserving groups. Capacity to analyze resource utilization and provide insights on budget variances, recommending corrective actions as necessary. Skills in facilitating and negotiating effective resolutions to human resource challenges. Ability to foster collaborative relationships that support staff development and professional practice. Promote clinical research opportunities to ensure evidence-based practices within a team-oriented environment. Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
