About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled HACCP Specialist to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our HACCP system to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Sanitation, SOPs, Pre-requisite Programs, HACCP, CCPs, and GMPs. They will also possess excellent supervisory and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain the HACCP system to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regarding HACCP-related issues
  • Develop and implement training programs for employees
  • Prevent the ongoing production of non-compliant product when non-conformities are observed or identified
  • Control any non-compliant product that has been produced, perform a food safety assessment, and determine appropriate methods of disposal
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science or Diploma in Food Safety/Science program or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of Sanitation, SOPs, Pre-requisite Programs, HACCP, CCPs, and GMPs
  • HACCP I-II certificate
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • 2-3 years experience in the Food industry is preferred
  • Computer proficiency with spreadsheet and database software (Visio, Minitab would be an asset)
  • Superior time management, organizational, and communication skills
