Key Responsibilities:- Lead and mentor a team of designers and technologists in the development of microelectronic and optoelectronic devices and solutions.
- Responsible for hiring, developing, and training staff to deliver innovative solutions.
- Foster technical and professional growth for the design team, monitoring staff performance and providing regular feedback.
- Promote innovation and provide input to product roadmaps, speed to market, and product lifecycle solutions.
- Work with customers to understand applications for development of solutions.
- General resource management, including level loading, task assignments, and addressing peaks and valleys in skills demand.
- Identify needs and organize resource training plans to fill knowledge gaps and foster growth.
- Partner with Product Manager and Program Managers to review and approve estimates, ensuring accuracy, achievability, and timeliness.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5+ years of experience in Opto and Microelectronics development for commercial and/or military applications.
- Demonstrated strong leadership and managerial skills, ability to motivate and lead a technical team.
- Knowledge of qualification and certification processes for Optoelectronics and Microelectronic applications.
- Experience in preparation and presentation of executive-level briefings.
- Good understanding of financial concepts, risk management, estimating concepts, and industry practices.
- Bilingual (oral and written French and English).
- Motivated and self-starter with good communication skills, able to complete and manage assignments with high-level instruction.
