About the Role

Creekside Forest Products Ltd. is seeking a skilled Wood Processing Grader to join our team at our planing mill. As a Wood Processing Grader, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our wood products by grading and labeling them according to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grade and Label Wood Products: Ensure that wood products meet quality standards by grading and labeling them accurately.
  • Measure Wood Products: Measure wood products to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Classify and Sort Lumber: Classify and sort lumber according to industry standards.
  • Examine Lumber for Defects: Examine lumber visually for knots, holes, splits, and other defects.
  • Measure Lumber for Thickness, Length, and Width: Measure lumber to ensure specified thickness, length, and width.
  • Sort Lumber for Further Processing: Sort lumber for further drying, trimming, or remanufacturing.
  • Stamp Lumber with Grade and Characteristics: Stamp lumber to indicate grade, wood type, moisture level, and other characteristics.
  • Tally Lumber: Tally lumber accurately.
Work Environment

The work environment is noisy and dusty, and you will be working outdoors. You will be standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
  • Experience: Will train.
  • Physical Capabilities: You must be able to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and have good hand-eye coordination.
