About the Role

Creekside Forest Products Ltd. is seeking a skilled Wood Processing Grader to join our team at our planing mill. As a Wood Processing Grader, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our wood products by grading and labeling them according to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grade and Label Wood Products: Ensure that wood products meet quality standards by grading and labeling them accurately.
  • Measure Wood Products: Measure wood products to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Classify and Sort Lumber: Classify and sort lumber according to industry standards.
  • Examine Lumber Visually: Examine lumber visually for knots, holes, splits, and other defects.
  • Measure Lumber: Measure lumber to ensure specified thickness, length, and width.
  • Sort Lumber: Sort lumber for further drying, trimming, or remanufacturing.
  • Stamp Lumber: Stamp lumber to indicate grade, wood type, moisture level, and other characteristics.
  • Tally Lumber: Tally lumber accurately.
Work Environment

The work environment is a planing mill, which can be noisy and dusty. You will be required to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
  • Experience: Willingness to train is essential.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and have good hand-eye coordination.
Language and Work Hours

The work language is English, and the work hours are 40 hours per week.
