Position Overview:
The Purchasing Coordinator will operate both independently and collaboratively within the Richards team to manage purchase orders, vendor returns, and work orders. This role will involve reporting, policy enforcement, and updating various fields within Richards' ERP system. The Purchasing Coordinator will liaise with internal teams and suppliers to ensure transactions are executed accurately and promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide timely updates to the Sales Department regarding any modifications to pricing, minimum order quantities, or lead times for inventory items, and adjust stock levels accordingly.
• Engage in ongoing discussions with the Sales Department to address purchasing needs and the arrival of goods to fulfill customer requests.
• Develop and revise Costing Packages to reflect any changes in pricing, logistics, or other costs associated with purchase requests.
• Establish and maintain inventory levels to meet the desired product availability while avoiding surplus stock.
• Communicate with suppliers to obtain pricing for existing or new items as necessary.
• Cultivate and sustain effective working relationships with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
• Experience in processing purchase orders and managing vendor relationships is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Excel, Great Plains, and/or Dynamics 365 Business Central is considered beneficial.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams at various organizational levels and with customers.
• Understanding of handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Experience:
• Prior experience in a Buyer role (less than 5 years).
• Familiarity with using an ERP system.
