Senior Clinical Healthcare Planner

Stantec Buildings is seeking a highly skilled Senior Clinical Healthcare Planner to join our Architectural Healthcare Planning team. As a senior contributor, you will work independently to assist healthcare clients in planning and creating fiscally responsible designs.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Develop clinical plans for acute or post-acute healthcare facilities, following best practices and evidence-based design principles.
  • Lead creative concepts and solutions for complex architectural projects in consultation with the Project Principal.
  • Facilitate QA/QC oversight of strategic facility master planning and medical planning aspects of project design.
  • Provide technical assistance in proposal formulation, project setup, work plan development, and budgeting.
  • Meet with clients, analyze project goals, and develop architectural concepts and solutions.
  • Initiate and create designs, presentation drawings, models, and narratives.
  • Foster a cohesive team environment based on mutual respect and individual contributions.
  • Collaborate with Health Sector and Business Center leadership to ensure successful project and business outcomes.
  • Work with various disciplines to ensure concepts and solutions meet project needs and client programs.
  • Develop design solutions that meet client goals and Stantec's Project Essentials.
  • Direct the activities and mentor clinical planning team members.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of health design complexity, health facility planning, and design guidelines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, including prioritizing work, meeting deadlines, and providing high-quality work product.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Experience in sustainable design and LEED principles is desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUP, and Newforma is preferred.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
  • Experience in the Ontario healthcare planning and design environment, including Ministry of Health capital planning approval stages.
  • Experience in Alternate Finance Project (AFP – P3) delivery methodology and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is an asset.
  • Registered Architect and/or Interior Designer.
  • Lean certification is considered an asset.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture and/or Interior Design.
  • 10 years of healthcare planning, design, and project management experience.

This role requires working in a typical office environment with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods. Field work may involve exposure to the elements.
