Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst, Recreation Planning Specialist to join our team at the City of Brampton. As a key member of our Recreation Division, you will play a critical role in providing research, analysis, and support for Recreation Planning teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to establish historical and current trends in Recreation Planning.
  • Perform complex data analysis to identify patterns and insights that inform decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain databases to support staff decision-making and program development.
  • Compile and distribute statistical reports to stakeholders, including key performance indicators of program success.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders, including Committee and Council.
  • Liaise with staff from various departments to facilitate information exchange and identify issues.
  • Utilize multiple data sources and internal resources to create user-friendly outputs that support decision-making.
Requirements
  • High school graduation plus an additional program of three to four years or equivalent in Geographic/Environmental Studies, Urban Planning, Economic Development, or related studies.
  • Over two years of experience in a research environment in a municipal recreation setting, with detail-oriented duties.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applications such as MS Office, Database applications, and website content/authoring tools.
  • Working knowledge of desktop publishing applications.
  • Familiarity with the municipal government legislative and regulatory context.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service.
