Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman Automotive Technician to join our team as a Fleet Maintenance Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical repair and maintenance of our fleet, ensuring that our vehicles are in top condition and ready for service.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance on transmissions, rear ends, differentials, electrical systems, power systems, and other service work as required in an efficient manner to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Complete all maintenance and repair activities in a safe manner; Update vehicle records as required.
- Inventory Management
- Keep track of all work performed, including parts ordered.
- Ensure that all tools and equipment are accounted for and maintained.
- Quality Control
- Conduct inspections and tests as required.
- Evaluate parts for reuse, repair or replacement.
- Customer Service
- Conduct themselves professionally at all times when dealing with drivers and third-party suppliers.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety program.
Requirements
- Certified Journeyman Automotive Technician.
- Current Class 5 Driver's Licence (Class 1 or 3 considered an asset).
- CVIP.
- Must have own tools.
- Experience with diesel engines.
- Ability to work on call or extended hours as needed.
- Proven knowledge of engine and gear repair, experience with computer diagnostics, and excellent trouble-shooting skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
