About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Architect to lead our Transit Architecture Studio in Vancouver. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing large, complex projects and project teams, contributing to the development of design principles, and collaborating with practice leaders to enhance our design excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage large, complex projects and project teams
  • Contribute to the development of design principles and assist in their refinement through subsequent design and implementation phases
  • Collaborate with practice leaders and colleagues to enhance our Transit Architecture Studio's culture for design excellence
  • Assist with preparing Business Development proposals and developing business plans
  • Establish a transit-focused design practice in Vancouver and lead a studio of transit professionals
  • Work from the Vancouver office minimum 3 days per week
Requirements
  • Minimum University Degree in Architecture
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in an architectural studio
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in leading project teams and managing large, complex interdisciplinary projects
  • Experience with Transit or P3 public-facing projects preferred
  • AIBC Registered Architect or Intern Architect
  • Creative and collaborative with demonstrated proficiency and passion for designing and detailing
  • Demonstrated proficiency through all phases of project development, taking projects from inception to completion
  • Competent knowledge of building codes and specifications
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage time and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently within a collaborative team
  • Proactive and detail-oriented
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver
  • Desire to grow, mentor, and inspire a team
  • Experience in transit station design will be considered an asset
  • Experience on large, multidisciplinary teams will be considered an asset
