Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class 1 Logging Truck Driver to join our team at The Sutherland Group of Companies. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely transporting heavy loads over long distances, navigating challenging terrain, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Heavy Trucks: Safely operate 7 and 8 axle configurations, hauling long and short logs on and off highway.
  • Focus on Safety: Ensure WorkSafe and CVSE load securement requirements are met, and conduct pre and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive in Challenging Environments: Navigate forestry roads and mountain terrain with ease, while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Electronic Record Keeping: Complete all electronic records regarding working hours, vehicle status, and maintenance records using the industry's best fleet management system, ISAAC.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure trucks are left clean and safe at the end of each shift, and perform routine maintenance tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Class 1 Driver's Licence: Possess a valid Class 1 driver's licence and a clean driving abstract.
  • Trucking Experience: Have a minimum of 3-4 years of trucking experience, with a preference for mountain driving and logging experience.
  • Ability to Enter the US: Be able to enter the US for work purposes, if required.
