We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Worker to join our team at the Geneva Centre for Autism. As a key member of our community outreach team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Education and Training: Provide educational support and guidance to individuals with ASD, focusing on life skills, social skills, and behavioral management.
- Behavioral Support: Implement and maintain behavior management programs, working closely with individuals, families, and other support staff to ensure effective support and care.
- Community Outreach: Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies, organizations, and service providers to ensure seamless support and services for individuals with ASD.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties, including data entry, record-keeping, and communication with families and stakeholders.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field, preferably in community service or social services.
- Certifications: Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate and CPR Certificate.
- Language: Fluency in English.
This is a temporary, part-time position, with a variable schedule of 1 to 24 hours per week. The work environment is fast-paced, with a focus on supporting individuals with ASD and their families in an urban community setting.
