Department Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Department Manager to join our team at IGA. As a Department Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of sales associates and ensuring the successful operation of our department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of sales associates to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
  • Department Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the department, including inventory management, pricing, and visual merchandising.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, including ordering and receiving stock, to ensure that the department is fully stocked and that inventory is turned over efficiently.
  • Visual Merchandising: Maintain a visually appealing store environment by ensuring that shelves are fully stocked, displays are attractive and well-maintained, and that the overall appearance of the department is appealing to customers.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews with team members to provide feedback and coaching to help them improve their performance.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of retail experience, preferably in a management role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
