Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Childhood Program Staff Assistant to join our team at Bridlewood Child Learning Centre. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our child care centre and contributing to the development of our young learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Support: Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Record Keeping: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in maintaining accurate records of children's progress and development.
  • Engagement and Activities: Engage children in various activities, such as storytelling, singing, and craft preparation, to promote their learning and development.
  • Child Development: Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, as well as observing and reporting any signs of potential learning or behavioral problems.
  • Staff Meetings: Attend staff meetings to discuss children's progress and address any concerns or issues.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and community service providers to ensure the well-being and safety of children.
  • Environment and Safety: Plan and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children, including supervising and coordinating activities of other early childhood educators and assistants.
Requirements
  • Certifications: First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
  • Security and Safety: Vulnerable sector check, medical exam, immunization records, tuberculosis test, and criminal record check.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to perform repetitive tasks, physically demanding work, and attention to detail, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Personal Suitability: Punctuality, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, reliability, team player, creativity, and ability to multitask.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience working with children, particularly in early childhood education, is an asset.
