Job Description

The Commercial Contracts Manager will provide world-class support from tendering to project completion, ensuring a balance between customer-centricity and risk management. This role will support regional growth by building a risk management mindset within the team and influencing global change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Sales and Proposal teams in negotiations and contract preparation
  • Review and negotiate Non-Disclosure Agreements for proposal efforts
  • Assess risk in commercial contracts and develop mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with in-house workflow and approval processes
  • Lead complex contract negotiations for dispute resolution and change order requests
  • Develop and implement risk management processes and controls
  • Provide project summaries and guide Project Managers through successful project execution strategies
  • Consult with the Legal Team on contract negotiations and dispute resolution
  • Teach contracts management skills to Sales, Proposal, and Project Management teams

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong academic record in a technical, engineering, legal, or business field
  • More than 10 years of commercial or transactional contract negotiation experience
  • Fluency in English (French is a plus) and ability to draft and negotiate contracts
  • Ability to influence and persuade with experience in negotiations
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and concepts in commercial contracts
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including presentations
  • Organized and self-motivated for success
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide creative business advice

  • General understanding of water treatment technologies and customer industries
  • Prior experience in an expert role supporting a business team
  • Experience working with large Design-Build contractors and contracts
  • Substantive knowledge of commercial contracts in international business
