Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Support Services Attendant to join our team at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. As a Support Services Attendant, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning and disinfection, waste collection and disposal, and linen distribution.
  • Assist with patient transfers and provide support with food preparation and delivery.
  • Receive and process hospital deliveries, validate and deliver items to departments, and update electronic supply chain database.
  • Maintain supply levels, review shortages, rotate stock, and update changes as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Experience in healthcare Environmental Cleaning or Food Services Department
  • Certificate in Cleaning in a Healthcare Environment preferred
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate or in-process of obtaining
  • Food Service Worker Program Certificate preferred
  • MSD prevention Safe Client and Materials Handling training, maintained annually
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Excellent record of dependability
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Ability to carry out physical aspects of the job
  • WHMIS Training
  • Ability to operate hydraulic lift/scissor dock and other equipment preferred
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this job require tasks that involve repeated lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing carts, and periodic climbing. The successful candidate must be able to perform these tasks safely and efficiently.
