Fabric Cutting Specialist:

The Fabric Cutting Specialist plays a crucial role in providing accurately cut and drilled fabric pieces to the production line, adhering to specified patterns and product guidelines while ensuring quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Efficiently loads necessary materials onto the cutting table, utilizing appropriate lifting tools and assistance as needed. Recognizes fabric characteristics and confirms the correct side of the fabric, requiring fundamental knowledge of various fabric types. Organizes cut fabric pieces in the designated areas and aligns them with the appropriate production line. Confirms fabric usage prior to cutting, ensuring the fabric is oriented correctly. Checks marker placements and part numbers against manufacturing and sales orders. Conducts visual inspections of fabric to identify any marker or fabric imperfections, following established procedures to assess material quality. Lays out fabric according to markers, ensuring the correct number of layers and quantities are prepared for cutting. Maintains inventory levels by cutting daily to align with production schedules and ensuring timely order fulfillment. Operates essential cutting machinery effectively. Completes necessary documentation as per quality and manufacturing protocols, including fabric tracking reports and recording fabric usage.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum educational requirement of grade 10 or equivalent work experience. 13 months to 2 years of relevant experience in a cutting or sewing environment is advantageous. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Flexibility to work various shifts as required. A keen eye for detail and a positive demeanor are essential. Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to recognize fractions in both metric and standard measurements. Proficient computer skills, particularly in MS Office applications such as Word and Excel. Good manual dexterity to accurately position patterns on fabric layers and execute precise cuts. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Competence in operating different types of cutting equipment, including manual cutters, upright saws, and drills.
