Fabric Cutting Specialist:

The Fabric Cutting Specialist plays a crucial role in providing accurately cut and drilled fabric pieces to the production line, adhering to specified patterns and product guidelines while ensuring quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Efficiently loads necessary materials onto the cutting table, utilizing appropriate lifting devices and seeking assistance when needed. Recognizes fabric characteristics and determines the correct side of the fabric, demonstrating a foundational understanding of various textiles. Organizes cut fabric pieces in the designated areas and aligns them with the appropriate production line. Confirms fabric usage prior to cutting, ensuring the fabric is positioned correctly. Checks marker placements and part numbers against production orders to ensure accuracy. Conducts visual inspections of fabric for any defects and follows established procedures to assess whether materials can be re-cut or deemed defective. Lays out fabric according to markers, ensuring the correct number of layers and quantities are prepared for cutting. Maintains production flow by cutting daily to meet scheduled targets and ensure timely order fulfillment. Operates basic cutting machinery effectively. Completes necessary documentation as per quality and manufacturing protocols, including fabric tracking reports and waste separation for recycling initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum education of grade 10 and/or relevant work experience. 13 months to 2 years of experience in a cutting or sewing environment is advantageous. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Flexibility to work various shifts as required. Attention to detail and a positive mindset are essential. Basic math skills, including the ability to recognize fractions in both metric and standard measurements. Proficient computer skills, particularly in MS Office applications such as Word and Excel. Good manual dexterity for precise pattern placement and fabric cutting. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Competence in operating different types of cutting equipment, including manual cutters and saws.
