Apprentice Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Apprentice Mechanic to join our team at Webber Infrastructure Management Canada Limited. As an Apprentice Mechanic, you will play a critical role in assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of our project vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Inspection and Repair: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to detect any malfunctions or damages, and perform repairs or replacements as needed.
- AVL System Maintenance: Monitor, diagnose, and repair the Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) system to ensure optimal performance.
- Electronic Driver's Log Management: Monitor, diagnose, and repair electronic driver's logs to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Diagnose problems and vehicle operation issues, and recommend necessary services or part replacements.
- Maintenance Records and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely records of daily maintenance activities, including cost estimates for repairs and service requests.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all company vehicles and equipment meet provincial standards and regulations, and maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education and Experience: High school or second or third year apprenticeship student, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Driver's License and Good Driving Record: Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to problem-solve and work independently.
Work Environment and Conditions
This is a dynamic and fast-paced work environment that requires flexibility and adaptability. The successful candidate will be required to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, and must be able to recognize and mitigate hazards in the workplace.
