About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic Technician to join our team at First Student. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet of school buses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Diagnose and perform repairs on a variety of vehicle systems, including brakes, engines, suspensions, and transmissions.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Lead preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
  • Quality Control: Evaluate completed work prior to release and ensure it meets First Student's high standards.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to Apprentice Mechanics and contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Requirements
  • License and Certification: Must have a valid 310T Mechanic license and a valid driver's license.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced problem-solving ability, advanced computer skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Tools and Equipment: Must have an appropriate mechanics tool set.
