What to Anticipate
The Software Development Team Leader will take charge of the effective development and delivery of Broadsign's offerings while upholding quality benchmarks. This role includes providing technical guidance and leadership to an agile team through mentorship and coaching, as well as being accountable for achieving team goals.
Role Responsibilities
Management
- Steer the team's development initiatives towards technical excellence and successful project outcomes.
- Offer technical guidance to team members through mentorship and coaching.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and regular one-on-one meetings with team members, providing constructive feedback to ensure progress.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership and product managers to formulate project and resource plans/schedules.
- Work alongside HR on staffing decisions, including hiring, performance assessments, and promotion considerations.
- Ensure the team aligns with departmental and organizational objectives.
Software Development
- Uphold high standards of software quality within the team by implementing best practices.
- Advocate for agile development methodologies.
- Guarantee that proper automation testing is established using industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- 5+ years in a leadership role.
- At least 3+ years of experience in a software development position.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Capability to guide a team through continuous learning methodologies.
- Ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Familiarity with various programming languages and coding techniques.
- Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate closely with multiple teams across the organization.
- Comfortable with a flexible hybrid work environment.
