About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fish Plant Labourer to join our team at Petit-Cap Fisheries Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient processing and handling of fish and shellfish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Handling: Transport fish and shellfish to the work area, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
  • Quality Control: Condition fish filets for wrapping or freezing, and weigh fish or shellfish, recording weight and packing fish in ice.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean machines and immediate work areas, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ingredient Measurement: Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines, ensuring accurate measurements.
  • Sorting and Classification: Sort fish according to species, weight, and destination, ensuring efficient processing.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Conditions: The role requires working in a fast-paced production environment with repetitive tasks, physically demanding activities, and attention to detail.
  • Physical Capabilities: The successful candidate will be required to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel, and work in a physically demanding environment.
