About the Role

As a Natural Gas Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of natural gas to our customers. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing natural gas systems and equipment, while adhering to strict safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on natural gas pipelines, meters, regulators, and other related equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in natural gas systems, utilizing your technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
  • Respond to customer service calls regarding natural gas issues, providing prompt and effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of our natural gas infrastructure.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, prioritizing the well-being of yourself and others.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary Technology Diploma in an appropriate discipline.
  • Certification or eligibility for certification at the technician (C.Tech.) level by the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC).
  • Two years of directly related, relevant work experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure during peak periods.
  • Excellent communication skills, including telephone call handling and the ability to interact effectively with customers.
  • A courteous and professional demeanor when dealing with internal and external contacts.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technical issues.
  • Proficiency in various specialized software applications used for operational activities (e.g., SAP) and the MS Office suite.
  • Knowledge of natural gas utilization and construction practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid British Columbia Driver's license.
